Cable ONE Launches SIP Trunking Services

By Paula Bernier - Executive Editor, TMC

Cable ONE now offers SIP trunk services.

SIP trunking enables businesses to move their voice services from traditional, TDM-based connections to session initiation protocol-based links that are more affordable, flexible, and scalable. Cable ONE’s SIP trunks are available for as low as $16 per channel.

The new services are available through the Cable ONE service area. That covers more than 40 markets in 19 states.

“Cable ONE Business is committed to providing business customers in the primarily rural communities we serve with access to the most technologically-advanced voice and internet services available today,” says Chris Boone, Cable ONE’s vice president of business services. “The addition of Business SIP trunks to our line-up of voice solutions confirms that commitment.”

Cable ONE, a Phoenix-based internet and cable service provider, is the seventh largest cable company in the U.S. The publicly owned company, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol CABO, is a former subsidiary of Graham Holdings Co. Cable ONE was formerly known as Post-Newsweek Cable.

The new Cable ONE SIP trunk offering is part of the company’s portfolio of services, which it provides to residential customers, large enterprises, and small and medium sized businesses. That portfolio also includes business phone, cable TV, cloud-based hosted voice, Ethernet, fiber-based internet, high-speed internet, and PRI trunk services. Cable ONE offers all its services through both retail and wholesale channels.

In other recent news from Cable ONE, J.D. Power has ranked it No. 1 for 2018 residential internet service provider satisfaction for the western region of the U.S. This recognition was based on billing, communication, cost of service, customer service, and network performance and reliability.

“Among the 12 internet companies studied, Cable ONE achieved the highest numerical score for overall customer satisfaction, as well as the highest scores in three of the five study factors – billing, communication and customer service,” Cable ONE explained in an Oct. 30 press release announcing the accolade. “With a score of 722 on a 1,000 point scale, Cable ONE outperformed all competitors across the western region.”
