Tango Purchases Simetric, Cements Mobile UC Focus
Selecting a unified communications solution is merely a step in the deployment process, as from choosing a solution should also include the selection of performance management software ensuring the system is delivering on expectations. A major reason for growing UC network management demand is the mounting cries for increased mobility. From the device, to the data center all components must function in concert and living up to the billing.
In answering calls for mobility, Tango Networks announced the acquisition of Simetric Telecom. With the purchase of the U.K.-based mobile service and telecommunications provider, Tango Networks can bring forth a comprehensive portfolio of mobile communications for the modern enterprise.
“More and more essential business communications are taking place on mobile devices that are not traditionally in the control of enterprise IT,” said Dr. Gerald Kromer, CEO of ASC. “But these communications are not exempt from compliance requirements for collection and retention. The new Tango Networks and Simetric offerings will create powerful new mobility flexibility for enterprises while at the same time integrating mobile communications with ASC’s recording solutions to ensure compliance.”
Recently launching, Kinetic Cloud, Tango Networks is delving deeper into mobility. The cloud-powered service delivers mobile recording compliance, enterprise application integration, SMS as well as mobile unified communications. The Simetric acquisition cements Tango’s mobile focus.
“Enterprises require secure and effective mobile solutions to support a productive mobile workforce,” said Raúl Castañón-Martínez, Senior Analyst, Workforce Collaboration and Communications, at 451 Research. “That’s why we are seeing a ‘second wave mobility’ emerging now. While ‘first wave mobility’ centered on the needs and interests of consumers, the new wave is focused on enterprises with distributed work environments that demand better communications flexibility, tighter application integration and stronger security.”
Enterprise communication requirements are evolving. Whether its courtesy of the cloud or more dispersed workforces, it’s clear the future of collaboration is in your pocket. Welcome to the always-on, always plugged-in digital world.
